Detroit
Wayne County indexes the amount and the parcel. The mortgage itself is not read.
The Register of Deeds in Detroit indexes the parties, the parcel and the consideration — the amount the recording tax was paid on — for every mortgage recorded in Wayne County, and charges for the image. Circlemark lists the index alone here: the amount is the Register's, no instrument is read, and every maturity is modelled from the lender type's usual term and marked as an estimate. Discharges, assignments and sheriff's deeds are checked every week.

Wayne County, index only; the vintages whose modelled maturity falls inside twelve months. As of Nov 4, 2026.
Where the numbers come from
- Wayne County Register of Deeds — mortgages, discharges, assignments, amendments, sheriff's deeds — the index only
- City of Detroit Office of the Assessor — parcel, taxpayer of record, class and use, state equalized value — the city only
Index only, and what that means
Detroit is the one live metro with no document read. The Register's images are not free, so the amount on every loan is the consideration the Register indexes — right where one note is secured, uncorrected where a mortgage secures several or caps a larger facility — and no maturity is stated: each date is modelled from the origination date and the lender type's usual term, shown with ≈, never counted as past due. As in the light-read metros, only the origination years whose modelled maturity falls inside the next twelve months are listed. The signature page cannot be read here either, so a card's people are the borrower the index names and the taxpayer of record. Michigan forecloses by advertisement, and the sheriff's deed is indexed by the Register. How the light read works.
What the roll covers
The City of Detroit's Assessor publishes its roll, so a loan inside the city is tied to its parcel with the taxpayer of record, the class and use, and the state equalized value, which is half of true cash value. The county's 42 other municipalities publish no free roll: a suburban loan carries its lender, borrower and amount, and no parcel, owner, property type or map pin.
Commercial loans maturing in Wayne County: the county's maturity windows, property mix and the lenders behind the loans coming due, counted from the record. The most active lenders in Wayne County: who has closed there in the last three years, by property type and loan size, dated to each lender's last deal.
